What is Omega 3?
Omega 3 is the name for a group of polyunsaturated essential fatty acids found mostly in fish. Fish oil is an excellent source of eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA). Omega 3 has been found to support brain function, vision and heart function, as well as being beneficial during pregnancy. DHA is an important structural component of the brain, retina and many other parts of the body. For optimal health, there is a ratio of omega 6 to omega 3 that should be maintained. Omega 6 is generally more prevalent in a typical Western diet and is considered to be inflammatory when combined with low omega 3 levels.

What does fish oil do?
